Previously, hotels in the tri-state area have had few good mattress disposal options, often being forced to send mattresses to far away landfills where they take over 100 years to fully decompose. But now hotels in the tri-state area have a better solution - Spring Into Action.
Spring Into Action is a new social enterprise that partners with hotels to recycle used mattresses locally. At our South Bronx warehouse, we manually disassemble mattresses, and resell (or give away) the components to be processed into new products. In doing so, we recycle over 90% of each mattress, and create green-collar jobs for people in our community who desperately need them.
